Ngozi Okonjo-IwealaNigeria’s former finance minister has been confirmed as the only candidate for re-election as director-general of the World Commerce Group (WTO). The WTO introduced that Ngozi had agreed to proceed serving as head of the group.
“Nominations for Director-Basic have closed; Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is confirmed as the only candidate,” the WTO stated in an official assertion.

The WTO added that Ngozi confirmed her willingness to proceed within the place in a letter dated September 16.
The method to nominate the following Director Basic formally begins on October 8, with member states having till November 9 to submit nominations.
