    France, India, Sri Lanka join forces to save film heritage

    To strengthen transnational movie preservation, the Indian Movie Heritage Basis (FHF) is collaborating with the French diplomatic missions in India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives on a two-year program referred to as FISCH (France-India-Sri Lanka Movie Heritage).

    The mission, supported by the French Embassy and the French Academy in India and the French Embassy in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, lasted over two years and targeted on coaching, movie restoration, preservation and promotion.

    The collaboration kicks off with a workshop on movie preservation and restoration, which will probably be held in Thiruvananthapuram, within the southern Indian state of Kerala, till November 14. The workshop, organized by the Worldwide Federation of Movie Archives (FIAF), noticed 67 members obtain intensive coaching in movie restoration and preservation methods. The initiative is made up of lecturers from prestigious French establishments, together with the Toulouse Movie Archive, the Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Bardet and the Nationwide Institute of Audiovisual Analysis (INA).
