TV big Fremantle has acquired world rights to coming-of-age indie drama Penelope from Duplass Brothers Productions (Any person Someplace, Room 104 》)
The eight-episode collection, created by Mark Duplass and Mel Essling, premiered on the 2024 Sundance Movie Pageant and can launch on Netflix within the US on September 24.
The collection follows Penelope, performed by Megan Stott (“Little Fires All over the place”) “Sure someday“), a 16-year-old lady who feels misplaced in trendy society and is drawn into the unknown wilderness, the place she begins to create a brand new life for herself in a nationwide forest.
