The three chiefs confronted harsh trials by His Majesty Osei Tutu II, King of Asante which led to their dethronement; King Sablon, King Akiam and Prince.
The removing was introduced on the Asanteman Council assembly held on the Manhya Palace on August 26, 2024, following a radical investigation into the chiefs’ involvement in unlawful mining actions, popularly often known as Garamsi.
The trio angered the Asanteine individuals after reviewing a petition submitted by involved residents of the normal space. The petition accuses the Gyaasehene individuals of participating in unlawful mining actions which have led to the destruction of the River Asuonfou, the world’s solely supply of ingesting water.
In his speech, Otumfo emphasised that conventional rulers are the custodians of the land and their process is to make sure the accountable use of the land for the advantage of the neighborhood and future generations. He was deeply disillusioned that these chiefs, who had been entrusted with such vital duties, had betrayed the belief of their individuals and brought about environmental degradation. The decisive motion of the Asante individuals sends a robust message that the Asante Kingdom won’t tolerate actions that threaten the setting and the well-being of its residents.
